Emergency Numbers

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency after 5 pm or on weekends, please do one of the following immediately:

  • Go to the nearest Emergency Room or Urgent Care Center
  • Call 911
  • Call Campus Safety at 417-836-5509
  • Contact the Counseling Center general number, 417-836-5116, and press zero to speak with a crisis counselor

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency during the hours of 8 am – 5 pm, please either call the Counseling Center general number, 417-836-5116, or come by the Counseling Center, located in Magers Health and Wellness Center, Suite 304, and request to speak with a crisis counselor.

Missouri State University Counseling Center

MSU Counseling Center offers personalized care plans for Missouri State University students.  A student can call to schedule an intake. Students are eligible for eight sessions per semester at no charge.  Services offered Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Magers Family Health and Wellness Center is a nationally accredited health care service committed to providing high-quality outpatient care to MSU students.  MHWC offers a wide range of primary care services which you can find out more about on their website:

MHWC also houses an on-site pharmacy and laboratory services.

Magers Health and Wellness Center also includes the Student Wellness Program. This program focuses on health promotion in higher education as well as health itself.

Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students Office offers support and resources for students, faculty, parents, and community members who are concerned for a student’s wellbeing. Disability Resource Center

Some students with mental health conditions (such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, etc.) may qualify for services and academic accommodations through the Disability Resource Center.

Learning Diagnostic Clinic

At the Learning Diagnostic Clinic, they test for learning disabilities, ADHD, autism and other psychological disorders that may affect learning. Project Success is also offered through the Learning Diagnostic Clinic. It is an academic support program for college students with a learning disability, ADHD, or other diagnosis who desire more comprehensive services than those covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Those enrolled in Project Success will be offered a wide variety of services tailored for students with learning disabilities.
